Community Life
Our Mission
Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic community
called to be Christ for one another through
prayer and sacraments, formation, outreach and stewardship.
Recognizing our commitment to living the Gospel, we will:
Provide quality liturgical experiences for the celebration of the sacraments,
Eucharistic liturgies and communal prayer;
Enhance religious education and formation for parishioners of all ages;
Offer and strengthen support for all those in need;
Foster and communicate the Christian vision of a vibrant faith community;
Promote the on-going education and commitment of parishioners to the
stewardship of time, talent and treasure.
Our Vision
Sacred Heart is a Stewardship Parish
We have committed ourselves to this life-long process of placing God first in our lives. We are known throughout the greater Lacey area as a welcoming, compassionate community that cares for the poor and marginalized. As good stewards, we give the first portion of our gifts of time, talent and treasure to the work of God in gratitude for His many blessings. We are financially sound and give a portion of our ordinary income to serve others.
Our expanded facilities serve our large, diverse community. An ever-growing multicultural community composed of European, Hispanic, African-American, Nisqually Native Americans, Filipino, Guamanian, Vietnamese, Korean, and other Asian cultures brings a unique spiritual vitality to our community of believers. The completion of the 2nd floor of Hallen Hall will support more of our many liturgical, educational, social and outreach activities. We also offer our facilities in service to the greater church throughout the Archdiocese.
Sacred Heart Parish promotes a deep respect for all of life and values parishioners of all ages. Our liturgical celebrations are nourishing and inspiring. Preschoolers through seniors are all encouraged to participate in the vibrant life of our community through ongoing formation, service and social activities. We know that is our call to make Christ visible to one another on a daily basis. We are living proof of God’s love. By living as good stewards of all God’s gifts, we help to bring about the coming of God’s kingdom.
