Sacred Heart Parish Family

For thus say the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when some of his sheep have been scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.
— Ezekiel 34: 11-12

Meet your Shepherds

Rev. Timothy Ilgen

Pastor

I am a late vocation to the priesthood. I had several different professions before “receiving the call”. I was in sales, maintenance, and even operated my own business for a short time. I think these professions helped prepare me for the priesthood. I was ordained a priest on June 7, 2003, at St. James Cathedral by Archbishop Alex Brunett. I have been at Sacred Heart Parish since 2015. As the Pastor of Sacred Heart, I am responsible for all aspects of parish life. It is quite an undertaking, but we have a great staff here. I am grateful for all their dedication and hard work. The main part of being a Pastor is the salvation of souls. Thanks be to God I have a great love for the people. I enjoy being a part of their lives, sharing in their joys and sufferings. Providing the sacraments is life-giving. Where would we be without the love of God being poured out upon us in abundance, especially through the sacraments. I pray that everyone will get to know and appreciate the love and mercy that God has for us. Praise the Lord!

Fr. Clement Piruwa

Parochial Vicar

I was born and raised in Malawi “The Warm Heart of Africa”. I was ordained a priest on September 22nd, 2001 at St Augustine Cathedral in the Diocese of Mangochi, Malawi by Rt. Rev. Alessandro Assolari. I was appointed to serve in the Archdiocese of Seattle in 2019 and became the parochial vicar at Sacred Heart Parish on July 1st, 2021. Apart from preaching the Word of God, administering the Holy Sacraments and governing the People of God, I also have great passion for people. I love helping people to help themselves through managing projects that reduce socio-economic challenges of their communities, hence I obtained a BA in Social Work in 2016. In my spare time, I like gardening, playing indoor games, and sight-seeing. If you plan to invite me to your home for a meal, please, make sure you prepare fish and beans; they are my best. My life is a witness of God’s abundant graces and goodness. I feel specially loved and blessed hence my homilies are characterized by a great shout, “God is Good all the time and All the time God is good!”

Holy Father, keep them in your name, which You have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.
— John 17: 11

Meet your Deacons

    PASTORAL CARE

    360-491-0890 Ext. 1110 Terry@3hearts.org

I am a husband to Patricia, a father of two children (a daughter and son), a grandfather of one, and a deacon blessed to serve our parish for the past 17 years. After my ordination and being hired at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, I was invited to serve the parish as the Pastoral Care Coordinator. I meet the most wonderful and grateful people who hold the reception of the Holy Eucharist as very important in their lives. While most recipients have significant health concerns, they receive great comfort knowing God is with them in their struggles. The people I have served and continue to serve are gifts to me. They are an inspiration to me. I thank God for this opportunity to be of service. I am blessed to see their love of God and to be friends with an invisible part of our faith community.

  • Rey Ronquillo

    FUNERAL PLANNING

I was born and raised in the Philippines. We moved to the US in 1996 and became parishioners at Sacred Heart. I was ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Seattle on October 27th, 2012. I currently served as Funeral Planning Coordinator for Sacred Heart Parish. If there is one thing I enjoy as a Deacon, it is responding to a call to missionary discipleship. Because of this, I meet parishioners on a personal basis, I get to know their needs and provide assistance and answers to questions that may arise about our faith. Sharing God’s love with joy is the catalyst of evangelization. The Gospel invites us to respond to the God of love who saves us, to see God in others, and to go forth from ourselves to seek the good of those around us.

My name is Ronnie San Nicolas and I was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 2003 in the Archdiocese of Agana (Guam). Since 2008 I have served as an extern deacon in the Archdiocese of Seattle and assigned to Sacred Heart Parish. In the parish, I serve as the coordinator of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and Adult Faith Formation. I find immense joy in helping bring people to God through the parish RCIA. For this I am grateful to Sacred Heart Parish for the opportunity to develop and implement Adult Faith Formation topics. I love learning and teaching others about the faith. In addition, I am passionate about pastoral ministry and spiritual care to people living with mental and developmental disabilities.

I’m Ric, I’m the Pastoral Assistant for Administration. I take care of the financial side of the parish. I’ve been interested in working in a Parish for a long time. I like being able to combine my faith with my skills in office management and software use. I’m grateful I get to interact with the talents and commitment of our parishioners. As a bonus, I can ride my bike or walk to work when there’s nice weather.

I’m Katherine Baker and I am the youth minister (6th-12th grade) coordinator at Sacred Heart. I’m responsible for the religious education and spiritual formation of the teens in our Parish. RCIA/YOUTH & CHILDREN

I’m Mya, the RCIA coordinator for children and youth. I’ve been married to my best friend David since 1999. We have two adult children. I was raised in Hawai’i, but our children came to Washington State to go to college and didn’t come home – so we followed them here. We’ve been parishioners here for almost 4 years. I love attending Mass, camping, snow, Jane Austen novels/movies, crafting, and playing board games.

My husband and I met in Germany in 1984, while he was stationed there. We moved to Lacey in 1993 and have been Sacred Heart Parishioners ever since. I oversee and manage the scheduling of all events and the parish facilities needed. I make sure that the calendar is up to date, making updates on an ongoing basis. I am analytical and detail-oriented, and managing Sacred Heart’s calendar requires those strengths daily. I also am the coordinator of the Lector Ministry.

CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION

I’ve been a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish since 1972. I have wonderful memories of being surrounded by friends and mentors who helped shape the person I am. After 25 years in the field of education, I joined the Faith Formation staff here. I love leading the programs of Children and Family Faith Formation. Planting seeds, encouraging growth, and watching as they blossom in their faith is very rewarding.

Hi, I’m Claudia. I’m from Colombia, my husband is from Cuba, we have three beautiful children. We’ve been parishioners at Sacred Heart for 4y. I coordinate the sacraments of baptism and marriage as well as the celebration for quinceañeras. I love that I get to be a witness of each new member who receives the Holy Spirit through baptism, of each couple that opens the door to Jesus in their marriages, and of the baptismal renewal and consecration to Mary in the celebration of each quinceañera.

I am Trisha Gosciewski, the parish receptionist on Thursday and Friday. On those days, if you call the office, I will answer and help you. I greet all the parish visitors, provide information, take messages for the priests and Staff, and do office work. Because my #1 strength is connectedness, I enjoy helping others meet their goals, and I like to be present in the many encounters with Jesus Christ and His people all around the parish. Stop in and say hello if you get a chance!
